Solar Panel Maintenance

Maintenance Free Solar System?

Once your solar panels are installed, there is little to no maintenance. Most solar panels only require the occasional rain shower to stay clean and produce energy at peak performance. But you may want to keep an eye on a few things to keep your panels operating at top performance.

Quick Solar Panel Maintenance Tips

  1. Trim any tree branches that are shading a panel. You will notice a dip in your solar production if this is the case for your panels. (You'll be able to view your solar energy production with our solar production monitoring services.)
  2. Brush off snow if you notice a change in your solar system production. However, most light snow will melt when it makes contact with your solar panels.
  3. If it hasn't rained in a while, you may want to clean your panels to remove any dust or bird droppings. Check with your solar panel manufacturer to find the proper cleaning method. (Most solar panels will only need to be rinsed off.)

Keep these tips in mind, but for the most part you can just sit back and let mother nature and the occasional rain shower do all the work. Solar panel maintenance is just that easy.
